Mary Lou Lasater-Webb is 105

Mary Lou Lasater-Webb celebrated her 105th birthday on October 17 at her McKenzie home.

She was born and lived just outside of Gleason until the early 1930s, She and her late husband, James Milam Webb married Aug 31, 1932 and lived in Gleason, St Louis, Los Angeles and Chicago until their retirement in the early 70s. McKenzie has been her home since.

She has two children, Delores Friedman and Robert Lee Webb, 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren. Her family from Chicago, Mississippi and Tennessee was present to celebrate with her.

In the year of 1914, when Mary Lou was born: cars were becoming more available, radio was just beginning to develop as a communication media, women still could not vote in most of the country, the American Civil War had ended only 49 years before, and Mothers’ Day was first recognized in the U.S.
