McKENZIE (November 25) — McKenzie Chamber of Commerce and Industry launches in January 2021 to better support the business community of McKenzie. The McKenzie Industrial Development Corporation (Industrial Board) is sponsoring this new venture in McKenzie.
Monica Heath, executive director of the McKenzie Industrial Board, is spearheading the effort at the direction of her nine-member board. She said the new organization will be a free-standing entity after a membership drive and those members select a Chamber board of directors. The headquarters will be at the former railroad depot on Bruce Street.
McKenzie previously had its own Chamber of Commerce, which was dissolved in favor of a countywide Chamber in 1980-1981.
The new McKenzie Chamber’s strategic goals include: membership development; growth focused; community minded; and education. Measurable goals will be membership, retail sales development, news businesses, and households.
Members will receive a monthly newsletter, space on the Chamber’s website, research materials, maps, tourist information, a Chamber decal for display, seminars, workshops, and annual banquet, discounted rates at the new, soon-to-open RailYard Co-Working Training and Conference Center on Broadway Street (next to the McKenzie Memorial Library), listed in the online Chamber membership directory, with links to individual businesses’ website and social media, members are the first choice as vendors, caterers and/or sponsors for special events, dinners and banquets.
Membership will include businesses, industries, non-profit organizations, social and service clubs, educational institutions, and individuals. The inaugural members will play an integral part in steering the future of the Chamber.
For more information and membership fees and requirements, contact Monica Heath at 731-352-2004, email her at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit at McKenzie Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 89 Bruce Street, McKenzie.
