McKENZIE (October 26) — McKenzie Elementary School hosted its annual Fall Festival Saturday, drawing a great crowd and raising funds for the school. The rain forced all activities inside, but that didn’t dampen the fun.

There were tons of games, including Pumpkin Bowling, Bucket Toss, Pick My Nose, Fish Pond, Pumpkin Tic-Tac-Toe, Golf, Pumpkin Pop Pull, Football Toss, Spin the Wheel and Glow Toss. There was also a cake walk, face-painting, a silent auction and food available in the cafeteria. Rollin’ Snow offered shaved ice in front of the school.

The Fall Festival King and Queen were named, based on the amount of funds raised. King Cooper Cunningham, first grader, raised $300. Queen Lola Batton, Kindergarten, brought in $845. The total raised from all of the king and queen nominees was $6,898.92.

A costume contest was also held. Categories included each grade at the school, from Pre-K to fourth grade, age 0-2, and groups/families.

Besides the MES staff, several parents and members of the MHS Beta Club helped make the event a success.
