McKenzie Fire Department Responds to Recycling Center Warehouse

Posted

McKENZIE (January 10, 2020) - McKenzie Fire Department responded to Euclid Avenue to a fire at Dale's Recycling in the former pet food manufacturing plant.

Firefighters responded at 6:30 p.m. Friday as there were reports of fire escaping from the roof of the building filled with recyclables from the nearby headquarters of Dale's Recycling on Bell Store Road. The building was filled with cardboard and other items.

Firefighters received assistance from Gleason and Carroll County Fire Department, which helped refill the self-contained air packs.

High winds impeded fire-fighting efforts.  The department shut down Euclid (Old State Route 22) for several hours. The ladder truck was used to help fight the fire.

Firefighters returned Saturday morning when flames rekindled.
