McKenzie Hosts ‘Smokin’ on the Square’

McKENZIE (June 1) — The City of McKenzie hosted its annual barbecue contest, “Smokin’ on the Square,” Saturday in downtown Veterans Park with a dozen teams from west and middle Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi competing in a variety of categories.
Winners were:
Grand Champion — Holy Smoke Cookers
Reserve Grand Champion — Bubba’s BBQ
Pitmaster: First Place — K&K Kookers; Second Place — Holy Smoke Cookers; Third Place — The Big Orange Smokers

Ribs: First Place — The Big Orange Smokers; Second Place — Holy Smoke Cookers; Third Place — Bubba’s BBQ
Pork: First Place — Holy Smoke Cookers; Second Place — Phillip’s BBQ; Third Place — Tristar
Chicken: First Place — K&K Kookers; Second Place — Smokin’ in the Country; Third Place — Big Daddy’s BBQ (Clinton, Kentucky)
