McKenzie Man Killed In Two-Car Accident

TREZEVANT (June 23) — A McKenzie man was killed in a two-car collision on Tuesday, June 23 on U.S. 79 near the intersection of Wingo Circle.
According to a report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Corey Douglas, 33, McKenzie was driving a 1999 Acura on U.S. 79 when he collided head-on with a 2017 Toyota 4-Runner driven by Amanda Crowe, 28, of Martin.
Douglas died at the scene while his daughter, Jovi Garner, 10 was injured and airlifted from the scene. Garner is recuperating with an injury to her arm.
The report indicates Crowe was also injured but does not list the extent of the injuries.

The highway was closed for an extensive amount of time.
Trezevant Fire Department, McKenzie Fire Department Rescue, THP, McKenzie Police, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department and Baptist EMS responded to the scene. Douglas and Garner were extricated from the vehicle.
Douglas is a 2005 graduate of McKenzie High School. He is survived by a girlfriend, Misty Dennett, a daughter, Jovi A. Garner and a son, Cash Garner, two brothers, Ross Little and Lucas Little, two stepsisters, Beth Norton and Miranda Travis and two half-sisters, Summer Pegrim and Angel Perryman. Memorial services were Monday at Brummit-McKenzie Funeral Home.
