Domestic Assault — Officer Cody Coleman responded to an East Walnut residence regarding a possible domestic assault early Monday morning, June 17. After talking with both parties, it was determined that Karen Cozart of McKenzie slapped Walter Mileski, also of McKenzie. Mileski refused to write a statement regarding the incident. Cozart was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Domestic Assault — On Tuesday afternoon, June 11, Officer Billy King responded to a call regarding an assault at a Campbell Street residence. Ladonna Haynes told King that her husband Chrism Haynes had pulled her hair during a heated argument and also allegedly threw a bottle at her vehicle and left walking. Haynes was later found and charged with Domestic Assault and taken to Carroll County Jail.
Multiple Charges — Officer Dalton Raspberry initiated a traffic stop on a black BMW Wednesday afternoon June 12 for speeding. The driver, Michael Floyd of McKenzie, was found to be driving on a suspended license. Floyd was advised to have someone with a valid license to pick him up. A juvenile female came a short time later to pick up Floyd. Raspberry detected an odor he believed was marijuana and conducted a search which revealed scales and a grinder with marijuana residue on it.
Floyd was cited into General Sessions Court for Speeding, Driving on Suspended License-First Offense, and Expired Registration. The juvenile was cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Theft — Mr. Kenneth Rogers reported to McKenzie Police shortly after midnight on Wednesday, June 12, he allowed a black female into his Walnut Circle residence to use his phone. He advised that she went into his bedroom to use the phone and came out acting strange. He went into the bedroom and found 80 dollars missing from his wallet. Rogers stated the money was in his wallet prior to the female being in his residence. Officers could not locate the woman but did advise Rogers to contact the Police Department if he saw her and charges would be filed when the woman is identified.
Theft — Officer Michael Lowe was dispatched to a Stonewall Street residence Monday, June 10 in reference to an altercation. According to Lowe’s report, Jacob Saulters allegedly got into a verbal altercation with his uncle Billy Borum about rent money that had gone missing. Borum advised he left 220 dollars on a shelf and it disappeared along with Saulters. Saulters denied taking it but based on statements of the victims. Saulters was cited into General Sessions Court for Theft Under $1,000 dollars.
Multiple Traffic Violations — On Friday, June 14, Officer Cody Coleman was assisting a county deputy looking for a small black car with Wayne County tags when he observed a vehicle traveling with tags that did not match the vehicle and were expired.
According to Coleman’s report, he initiated a traffic stop at Maverick. The driver, Carlos Martinez of McKenzie, advised the tags belonged to a vehicle he no longer owned. Martinez was cited into General Sessions Court for Registration Decal Removal, Driving on Expired Tags, and Violation of Financial Responsibility law.
Driving on Suspended/Revoked License — Officer Billy King observed a vehicle driving by Kristopher Laman of Huntingdon run a stop sign at the intersection of Kencindot and Cherrywood Road Monday morning, June 10. A license check revealed Laman was supposed to be driving with an Alcohol Interlock Device on his vehicle and was not which automatically revokes his license. Laman was also found to have two prior revoked license offenses.
