Driving on Suspended/Revoked License — On October 7, Officer Justin Brister observed an individual known to have a revoked Tennessee driver’s license. According to Brister’s report, the driver was Porter Cunningham Jr who admitted that he was revoked for DUI. Cunningham was arrested and charged with Driving While Revoked-Fourth Offense.
Driving on Suspended/Revoked License — A Martin man was arrested and charged with multiple traffic offenses after a stop on October 9 for expired registration violation by Officer Chance Townes. The driver, Dossie Wright of Martin admitted to not having insurance on the vehicle and a computer check revealed that the registration did not match the vehicle. The computer check also revealed Wright had seven prior convictions of Driving on Revoked. He was arrested and charged with Driving While Revoked-Eighth Offense and cited for failure to show proof of insurance and removal of registration.
Criminal Trespass — James Ryg notified McKenzie Police that someone was at a Cherry Street residence without the owner’s permission. According to a report by Officer Jeff Winberry, he found Keith Haynes and Rebecca Todd at the residence and advised them that the renter did not want them there. Winberry was called back to the residence later and the two were there again and this time were arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass and taken to Carroll County Jail.

Simple Possession/Casual Exchange — On October 12, Officer Dalton Raspberry initiated a traffic stop for a tag light out. The driver, Timothy Hickey of Union City, informed Raspberry he had a loaded handgun behind his seat. Hickey was patted down searching for other weapons and found a bag of marijuana in his jacket pocket and found drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. Hickey was cited into court for Possession of Schedule VI Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Domestic Assault — Two men were arrested and charged with Domestic Assault after being dispatched to an Alabama Street residence in regards to a Domestic Assault in progress. Carlos Wright of McKenzie and Dossie Wright of Martin were arrested and charged with Domestic Assault. According to the report, this was the second time officers have had to respond to the residence over the same two individuals for the same thing in the same week.
Multiple Offenses — On October 13, a traffic stop by Officer Dalton Raspberry resulted in a pair of charges. Raspberry initiated the traffic stop due to a tag light out. The driver, William Sydnor, was found to be driving on a suspended license. An inventory search of his vehicle was done and a glass jar was located with marijuana in it. Sydnor was arrested and charged with Driving on Suspended License-Second Offense and Possession of Schedule Vi Drug and transported to Carroll County Jail.
