Driving Under the Influence — Officer Jeffrey Lowden charged Carlos Guzman Covarrubias, 43, Smith Avenue, McKenzie, with Driving Under the Influence, Open Container, and No Drivers License on May 11. According to the report, he was seated in a car, slumped over the steering wheel, at a convenience store.
He reportedly did poorly on sobriety tests. He was charged with DUI, No Drivers’ License, and Open Container and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Possession of a Firearm During Commission of Felony — Officer Justin Brister charged Romello Foster, 25, of Paris with Sale/Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Dangerous Felony on May 17.

Officer Brister stopped a Chevy Malibu with its rear bumper dragging the road and sparking. As he was stopping the vehicle on Highland Drive, dispatch received an anonymous tip the suspect in the vehicle had sold drugs at an apartment in McKenzie.
upon stopping the vehicle, Officer Brister saw the two rifles in the front seat. Upon questioning Foster about illicit drugs, he admitted to marijuana in a backpack, which resulted in 122.3 grams. He was placed under arrest and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Driving Under The Influence — Officer Jeffrey Lowden charged Brandy Valentine, 31, of Henry with DUI after she was stopped after pulling into a driveway on Highway 140. Dispatch received a call from a family member that she might be driving drunk and going to the store for additional beverages. After a field sobriety test, she was arrested for DUI. She refused a blood/alcohol test resulting in additional charges of Violation of Implied Consent. She was transported to Henry County Jail.
Theft — Officer Just Brister took a report from April Moore, Walnut Avenue, about theft from her carport. The report, on May 15, indicated the theft of leaf blower, bird cage, emergency kit with jumper cables, utility cord.
