Evading Arrest, Aggravated Assault — Vince D. Vandiver, 53, N. Main Street, Milan was arrested on January 24 after leading officers on a high-speed pursuit, slamming into a patrol car, and ending his journey when a tire deflated. Sergeant Cody Coleman observed a silver Mercury leaving a residence known for drug activity. He followed the vehicle and observed it speed up, head onto State Route 22 South, Vernon Thomas Road into the Hico Community, Thompson Road, Highway 436, Renfroe Road, and almost strike Sergeant Davis with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department. On Highway 436, two subjects fled the vehicle when it stopped. Officer Coleman placed his vehicle in front and Davis parked behind to sandwich Vandiver’s vehicle. The two passengers jumped out and Vandiver struck Coleman’s patrol car, disabling it. Sgt. Davis handcuffed the two subjects, who attempted to flee, left the two in the custody of Coleman. Davis then took up pursuit of Vandiver. Davis returned to assist Coleman. Vandiver’s vehicle was disabled from a flat tire and he was apprehended by additional sheriff’s deputies. The passengers were Christopher Brown, 28, Moody Street, Huntingdon, and Cayce Walker, 27, Trezevant. The two claimed they asked Vandiver to stop. Brown and Walker were released at the scene. A total of $4,340 was taken into evidence. Vandiver was transported to Carroll County Jail on charges of Reckless Endangerment, Aggravated Assault on an Officer, and Evading Arrest. He was held on a $250,000 bond.

Domestic Assault — Kyle Travis Tucker, 31, Aubrey Avenue, McKenzie was charged with Domestic Assault after an incident on January 29 at his home. Officer Bryan Batchelder filed a report indicating that dispatch received a call to a domestic. The victim stated Tucker placed her in fear for her life.

DUI — Brand Deanne Houchin, 42, of Evansville, Indiana was arrested on a charge of DUI-First Offense.

Sergeant Cody Coleman reported dispatch received a call on January 27 about an intoxicated individual on Paris Street. Officer Coleman found her automobile in a ditch. A field sobriety test led to her arrest. A family member was allowed to retrieve the automobile.

Driving on a Revoked License — Melissa Kathryn Robinson, 44, Cherry Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License - Second Offense and Violation of Financial Responsibility on January 23. Officer Darren Davis made a traffic stop of Robinson’s vehicle and learned of the status of her license. She was arrested and the vehicle was towed to the city’s impound lot.
