Retaliation — Kevin Lee Mingle, 42, Hamilton Street, McKenzie was charged with Retaliation for a Past Action on April 19.
Officer Sean Beck reported he listened to a recorded voicemail on a female’s phone. The voicemail was a threat to the female and also to Officer Beck.
Officer Beck and Sgt. Artymovich received a tip that Kevin was staying with his brother. The two officers went to the residence, guarded each door, and Beck knocked on the door after seeing Mingle inside the house as the officer looked in a window.
They had active warrants for Mingle’s arrest. Beck attempted to make forced entry when he heard Sergeant Artymovich issue a verbal warrant while stationed at the back door. Mingle surrendered to officers at the back door.
DUI — Sherry J. Pirtle, 49, Fairview Cove, Oakland, Tenn., was charged with DUI on April 23.
Officer Darren Davis reported that he responded to a reckless driver call on U.S. 79. He stopped the vehicle after the vehicle swerved. A field sobriety test netted the charges.
Pirtle was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Violation of Probation — Brittney M. Gowan, 33, Second Avenue, Lewisburg, was charged with Violation of Probation on April 23.
Officer Matthew Cunningham stopped Gowan’s vehicle for a light law violation. During the stop, he was alerted of an active warrant in Coffee County. She was arrested and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Domestic Assault — Benjamin K. Fowler, 33, Field Street, McKenzie, was charged with Domestic Assault on April 17.
Officer Darren Davis responded to a domestic incident in which the victim stated Fowler made threats towards her and she had barricaded herself in the restroom.
Fowler was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Theft — Gelena McCain reported her prescriptions were taken from her vehicle. She noticed the items were missing from her car after several stops at town businesses. Officer Bryan Batchelder filed the report on April 20.
Fentanyl Discovered — A McKenzie mother reported to the McKenzie Police Department headquarters to give them possession of pills believed to be fentanyl. The pills were in her daughter’s purse.
On April 19, Officer Jeremiah Brooks took possession of the illicit drugs and followed the required procedures to file the report.
The juvenile daughter was charged with Possession of Schedule II and a juvenile petition was filed.
Public Intoxication —Linda Mariah Garner, 30, Elm Street, McKenzie, was charged with Public Intoxication on April 17.
Sergeant Cody Coleman responded to Elm Street concerning a woman causing problems at a residence. The reporting party did not want to press charges for the vandalism.
Officer Coleman transported Garner to Carroll County Jail.
