Simple Possession, Tampering With Evidence — Brandon M. Hartsifled, 23, Old McKenzie Highway, Paris, was charged with simple possession or casual exchange, tampering with evidence and violation of financial responsibility on May 7.
Officer Dalton Raspberry was packing his traffic control cones in the McKenzie High School school zone on State Route 22 when he smelled marijuana from a passing Nissan Sentra. Raspberry pursued the vehicle, stopping it on Cole Street. During the pursuit, a baggie was thrown from the car, which Officer Mark Boaz retrieved. A computer check revealed an outstanding capias for Hartsfield in Weakley County. He was transported to Carroll County Jail for Weakley County to take into custody later. The bag of green leafy material weighed approximately 10 grams and field-tested for marijuana.
Violation of Probation — Latrisha Rich Owens, 41, Park Circle, McKenzie was cited into court after officers responded to 81 Park Circle due a noise complaint on May 4. Once there, officers found Owens at the scene, ran a computer check, and discovered an outstanding warrant for violation of probation.  
Diving on Suspended/Revoked - 4th Offense — Brittany Belk, 29, Old State Route 22, McKenzie was charged with driving on a revoked license - 4th offense after a traffic stop on May 4.
Officer Dalton Raspberry initiated a traffic stop on a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis because he was aware of the driver’s license status. Her license was revoked because she originally was suspended out of McKenzie City Court for failure to answer/pay original violation. She was also charged in Carroll County and Henderson County. During the last stop, she was unable to provide proof of insurance. The automobile was seized and she was cited into General Sessions Court.

Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Driving on Suspended or Revoked License — Wilfredo D. Rivera, 52, Kay Street, McKenzie was charged unlawful possession of a weapon, driving on suspended license, and simple possession after a traffic stop on May 8.
Officer Dalton Raspberry filed the report, after he, Sgt. Beauchamp, Patrolman Jackson, and Patrolman Boaz made a stop of a 1999 Chevy Cavalier driven by Rivera. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department was searching for Rivera after an assault in Hollow Rock.
Officers found a loaded .22 caliber handgun on Rivera, a pair of ‘nuckles’ with an attached dagger blade, a handgun under the seat, multiple coins, silver certificates, jewelry, sports cards, and jewels. Those items believed to have been taken in burglaries. He was driving on a suspended license with two prior convictions. The vehicle he was driving was unregistered and he had the open title in his possession. The vehicle was towed from the scene. He is facing the assault charge filed by Carroll County Sheriff’s Department.
Public Intoxication — Billy M. Harrison, 39, Seminary Road, McKenzie was charged with public intoxication on May 7 after he was acting strangely in a business parking lot. He was pointing at things and talking about things that were not actually happening.
Officer Dalton Raspberry arrested Harrison and transported him to Carroll County Jail. While en route, Harrison would going from screaming to asleep.
