Simple Possession, Tampering With Evidence — Brandon M. Hartsifled, 23, Old McKenzie Highway, Paris, was charged with simple possession or casual exchange, tampering with evidence and violation of financial responsibility on May 7.
Officer Dalton Raspberry was packing his traffic control cones in the McKenzie High School school zone on State Route 22 when he smelled marijuana from a passing Nissan Sentra. Raspberry pursued the vehicle, stopping it on Cole Street. During the pursuit, a baggie was thrown from the car, which Officer Mark Boaz retrieved. A computer check revealed an outstanding capias for Hartsfield in Weakley County. He was transported to Carroll County Jail for Weakley County to take into custody later. The bag of green leafy material weighed approximately 10 grams and field-tested for marijuana.
Violation of Probation — Latrisha Rich Owens, 41, Park Circle, McKenzie was cited into court after officers responded to 81 Park Circle due a noise complaint on May 4. Once there, officers found Owens at the scene, ran a computer check, and discovered an outstanding warrant for violation of probation.
Diving on Suspended/Revoked - 4th Offense — Brittany Belk, 29, Old State Route 22, McKenzie was charged with driving on a revoked license - 4th offense after a traffic stop on May 4.
Officer Dalton Raspberry initiated a traffic stop on a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis because he was aware of the driver’s license status. Her license was revoked because she originally was suspended out of McKenzie City Court for failure to answer/pay original violation. She was also charged in Carroll County and Henderson County. During the last stop, she was unable to provide proof of insurance. The automobile was seized and she was cited into General Sessions Court.
