Driving on Suspended License — Alvin U. Travis, 60, Magnolia Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License, Violation of Financial Responsibility and Expired Registration after a traffic stop on June 11.
Officer Dalton Raspberry stopped the Travis’ vehicle and determined the license was suspended. He was cited into General Sessions Court.
Driving on a Suspended License — DeMarcus M. Robinson, 34, Hamilton Street, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License Due to a DUI, Violation of Financial Responsibility and Violation of Window Tint on a traffic stop on June 14.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped a gray Audi after witnessing the windows were tinted too dark. He followed the vehicle and witnessed it disregard a stop sign before finally stopping. DeMarcus was in the front passenger seat. Officer McClure determined the driver and passenger had swapped seats and DeMarcus was the actually driver prior to the stop. A juvenile son was in the rear seat with no child restraint, which resulted in an additional citation.
DeMarcus was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Driving on Suspended License — Michael W. Smith, 50, Highway 105, Trezevant was charged with Driving on a Suspended License, Violation of Financial Responsibility, and Failing to Signal a Turn on June 10.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Smith’s vehicle after he failed to signal and dispatch confirmed the suspended status of the license. He was cited into court.
Driving on Suspended License — Erica L. Wilson, 20, Cherry Avenue, McKenzie was charged with Driving on a Suspended License and Failure to Stop at a Traffic Signal on June 10.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Wilson’s vehicle and learned of the suspended status. She was cited into court.
Driving on a Suspended License — Jordan B. Stanfill, 23, Ellendale Place, Jackson was charged with Driving on Suspended and Improper Display of Registration Plate on June 16.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Stanfill’s vehicle after observing the non-lighted registration plate. The driver’s license was suspended. He was cited into court.
Driving on Revoked License — Joshua B. Jackson, 32, Huntingdon, was charged with Driving on Revoked Due to a DUI, Violation of Probation, and Violation of Financial Responsibility on June 15.
Officer Darren Davis stopped the vehicle Jackson was driving for speeding, which resulted in the new charges and Jackson’s arrest. The owner of the vehicle was advised it was being impounded. Jackson was arrested and transported to jail.
Domestic Assault — Bobby Pate, 75, Grandberry Street, McKenzie was charged with Domestic Assault and Interfering with an Emergency Call on June 14.
Sergeant Cody Coleman responded to the residence and which the victim stated Pate assaulted her and attempted to prevent her from calling authorities. Pate was arrested on the charges and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Violation of Order of Protection — Demond E. Burrow, 28, Union City, was charged with Violation of Order of Protection on June 15.
Officer Bryan Batchelder responded to a call, which was domestic in nature. Batchelder saw a male and female standing outside the Ruth Street residence. He learned the victim had a order of protection against Burrow, who was arrested for violating that order. He was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Prohibited Weapon — McKenzie Police Department received a call concerning occupants of a vehicle shining a green laser light at passing motorists. The car was entering McKenzie on U.S. 79 South on June 16.
Officer Dustin McClure stated the suspects also shined the laser on a MPD and Carroll County officer as the car passed. The suspects were stopped and notified it’s illegal to shine the laser at law enforcement officers. They were warned with possible charges coming from Officer McClure.
Burglary — A Walnut Avenue resident filed a report of a burglary of electronics and other items from her home on June 10.
Officer Dustin McClure filed the report indicating the victim named a suspect, who entered her residence and took. The suspect had called the victim and warned her not to contact the police. No arrests were made at the time of the report.
