Aggravated Assault, Stabbing — A domestic argument resulted in one person being stabbed and another being physically assaulted by being punched in the face on June 24, 1:53 a.m.
Officer Jackson Tanner and Patrolman Dillion responded to Park Circle, where Kendrick
Wharton, 34, Park Circle, was stabbed by Mavaryah Robinson, 20, Park Circle, after an argument. The report indicates Wharton stumbled into the lawn and officers observed a stab wound. Robinson indicated she was defending herself after being punched and thrown to the ground.
Aggravated Assault, Theft — Four juveniles were involved - two victims and two suspects - in a June 22 theft and aggravated assault on Oaklawn Drive.
Officer Timothy Dillon responded to the theft of two bicycles. The suspects threw fireworks at the boys and hit them with the fireworks as they were taking the boys’ bikes without permission. Officer Dillon found the bicycles in the Elm Street area near a convenience store. He was able to speak with the suspects and filed juvenile petitions with the charge of Aggravated Assault and Theft.
Violation of Probation — Charles D. Dunning, 40, Seminary Road, McKenzie was arrested on a charge of Violation of Parole on June 18.
Officer Dalton Raspberry observed Dunning walking on Elm Street. As the officer approached, Dunning hid in an outbuilding. Dunning was arrested on an active warrant for Violation of Parole.
Theft — Eagle Food Store reported a theft on June 17 after two males entered the store. One stole an alcoholic beverage and placed it inside his jacket. The store owner got a description of the vehicle and its license number.
Assault, Vandalism — Two juveniles were charged after they are accused of throwing an egg at an oncoming car.
Officer Matthew Cunningham filed the report on June 20 at around 10 p.m. The juveniles were driving without headlights, and the driver of the oncoming car flashed to alert the oncoming car that the headlights were not on. An egg was thrown from the juveniles’ automobile, striking the oncoming car. A second call at dispatch stated two persons were walking and were struck by an egg that was tossed. Officer Cunningham witnessed the second incident and pursued the vehicle, stopping it. The suspect juveniles had cartons of eggs in the vehicle.
The juveniles were charged with juvenile petitions for vandalism, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
DUI — Keira Leann Hones, 22, Douglas Avenue, McKenzie was charged with Driving Under the Influence on June 23.
Officer Timothy Dillon observed Hones back her car into an object in a parking lot. She reportedly told officers, Dillion and Raspberry, she had consumed alcoholic beverages. After a field sobriety test, she was arrested on DUI-First Offense and transported to jail.
Driving on Suspended, Simple Possession — Shawn Tyrone Roy, 53, Birmingham Lane, McKenzie was charged with Driving on a Suspended/Revoked License, Manufacturing Meth, and Simple Possession on June 18.
Officer Dalton Raspberry attempted to stop Roy’s vehicle when he evaded the officer, who located the unoccupied vehicle in a business parking lot with the suspect inside the business. Roy admitted he avoided the traffic stop because his license was not valid. A search of the vehicle and Mr. Roy revealed rolling papers, a green-leafy substance and a crystal-like substance that tested as meth.
Theft Scam — A 69-year-old Huntingdon lady was scammed out of her money with a telephone ruse. She reported to McKenzie Police Department that she lost $5,000 when she thought she was, instead, receiving a $5,000 loan to deposit in her checking account. Instead, money was withdrawn from her account, creating an overdraft.
Theft — A McKenzie woman was the victim of theft of a handgun on June 19.
Officer Kyle Beauchamp filed the report stating the lady’s relative was cleaning the house, when a man asked to use the restroom. The female relative allowed him to enter. After he left, she noticed the .38 caliber revolver handgun was missing. A warrant will be issued for the man, who was a known person to the relative.
