McKenzie Schools To Celebrate Walk-to-School Day on Friday

Posted

Students at McKenzie Elementary School and McKenzie Middle School will celebrate International Walk-to-School Day on Friday, October 4. This event will remind everyone of the joys of walking and the health benefits of regular daily activity.
MMS students are invited to meet in the parking lot of McKenzie City Hall at 7 a.m. and begin their walk down Stonewall at 7:20 a.m. to arrive at school at 7:30 a.m.
Bus riders who wish to walk must have a signed permission form and must show it to the bus driver before getting off of the bus at city hall. Walkers will arrive in time for students who wish to eat breakfast to do so.

MMS invites everyone to walk with the students and to show support for their efforts for a healthier community.
MES students can walk to school with parents or guardians.
Walkers to both schools will be greeted by teachers and representatives of Coordinated School Health, who will provide water and snacks. Students at MES will also be greeted by McKenzie school athletes.
For more information, contact McKenzie Elementary School at 731-352-5272 or McKenzie Middle School at 731-352-2792.
