McKenzie Splits with Jackson Southside

JACKSON (January 3) — McKenzie Lady Rebels and Rebels (District 11-1A) split wins with Jackson Southside (District 12-3A) in non-district contests.
 
McKenzie Lady Rebels (8-5 overall, 0-0 district) lost to a very physical Southside Lady Hawks (14-0, 0-0 district) in a contest to better prepare the Lady Rebels as they head into district play. The final score was 82-56 with the home team retaining their undefeated season.
 
McKenzie scored 15, 4, 15, and 22 in the respective quarters for a total 56 points. The team is without the assistance of Savannah Davis, Madison Gilbert, and Hannah Dillingham, all of whom are on the injured list and all who are returning player from the previous championship season.
 
McKenzie was led by Kylie Reynolds with 21, MiKaela Reynolds with 19, Briley Auvenshine with 7, Sophie Pate with 5, and Katie Chesser with 4.
 
The Lady Hawks scored 16, 21, 26 and 19 in the respective quarters.
 
The team was led by Jaidynn Askins with 22, Albany Collins with 22, Kimora Currie with 12, Timia Lawson with 8, Akira Lacy with 7, Jkarrau Anderson with 5, Felicity Long with 4, and Aydison Dilworth with 2.
 
McKenzie Rebels (6-2 overall, 0-0 district) edged the Southside Hawks (1-7 overall, 0-0 district) by a score of 64-58.
 
The Rebels scored 6, 25, 14, and 19 in the respective quarters. The team was led by Tate Surber with 20 including three 3-pointers, Marquez Taylor had 17, Zay Webber had 11, Zach Aird 9, Bryson Steele with 6, and Stafford Roditis with 1.
 
Jackson Southside scored 15, 15, 10, and 18 in the respective quarters. The team was led by Semion Graham with 13, Amari Goodman with 9, Christian Mitchell with 8, Josh Fields and Jaycien Cole with 7 each, CJ Cole with 5, Jamarion Burns with 4, Cash Montgomery with 3, and Landon Cole with 2.
