The City of McKenzie’s Freedom Festival 2019 includes a full slate of Fourth of July events.
Thursday’s activities begin at 10 a.m. with a children’s parade on Waldren Street across from the Farmers Market.
The remainder of the events are at City Park.
Food vendor booths open at 6 p.m., and opening ceremonies are from 6:30-7. The posting of colors by McKenzie Cub Scout Pack 78 will be followed by a welcome by Mayor Jill Holland and a prayer by Bro. Dennis Trull.

Megan Allen will perform the National Anthem, then members of the Morning Glory Garden Club will announce the winners of “Most Patriotic Window” and “Yard of the Month.” Next, parade winners will be announced.
The Legends Band will perform from 7-9 p.m. At 9:15, Taps will be played, then Pack 78 will retire the colors.
Fireworks begin at dusk, barring inclement weather.
All vehicles must be out of the park by 4:30 p.m.
Park transportation will run from 5:30-7 p.m. with pick-up points on Como Road. Handicapped parking is at the top of Liberty Lane behind the softball field. Handicapped plates or windshield tags are required for parking in designated areas.
