McKENZIE — While many things are canceled because of COVID-19, McKenzie is moving ahead with several Christmas events including Mistletoe Market, Catch Me Under the Mistletoe 5K Run, Santa Claus visits, Christmas with Renaissance, and a drive-through Jingle Bell Luncheon.

Mistletoe Market is at the Farmers Market and at the new The Railyard, 9 Broadway Street (adjacent to McKenzie Memorial Library). The hours of operation are Friday, December 4, 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 5, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Catch Me Under the Mistletoe 5K Run is Saturday, December 12, 9 a.m., starting at the Farmers Market. Applications are available online at the City of McKenzie Facebook page, McKenzie City Hall and businesses in town.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Saturday, December 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McKenzie City Hall. Pictures with Santa start at $5. All proceeds go toward Beta Sigma Phi’s fund raiser for the annual Angel Tree to provide Christmas for less fortunate children.

Christmas With Renaissance is at Park Theatre. Please phone 731-352-6986 for ticket information. This virtual event is December 11, 7 p.m.; December 12, 2 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, December 13, 2 p.m. The event was converted to a virtual event because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 version is on the big screen.

Jingle Bell Luncheon is Tuesday, December 15, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Block City Pizza, drive-through only. Tickets are $8.50 and are available from any Beta Sigma Phi member or City Hall. This annual event raises funds for the annual Angel Tree project.

Popular events canceled include the children’s Polar Express event at the railroad depot and the Christmas Parade.
