McKenzie to Retain Republic Services

McKENZIE (May 23) — McKenzie’s City Council met in a called session to award the solid waste contract for once weekly residential curbside garbage pickup within city limits.
Republic Services retained the contract bidding 10.49 per cart. Red River Waste Solutions who bid 11.41 per cart.

The contract is good for five years. The bids were opened earlier this week.
Councilman Jason Martin made the motion to approve Republic’s bid while Councilman Brian Winston seconded the motion. Approval was unanimous with Vice-Mayor Randy Callahan and Councilman Bobby Young absent from the meeting.
No other action or discussion took place during the session prior to adjournment.
