Athletes from McKenzie High, Bethel University Encourage Exercise
MES, MMS Celebrate International Walk-to-School Day
Bethel’s Lady Wildcat Basketball Team participated in the walk to school with McKenzie Middle School students on October 4. Students walked from McKenzie City Hall to the school.

McKENZIE (October 4) — Students, parents and teachers at McKenzie Elementary and McKenzie Middle School celebrated International Walk-to-School Day Friday. Students around the world are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes to school on their designated day.
Middle school students gathered at city hall and walked as one big group, joined by the Bethel Lady Wildcat basketball team as well as parents, teachers and other members of the community. Elementary school students walked with parents and guardians.
Both schools had huge welcoming parties awaiting the students, including athletes from McKenzie High School and Bethel University. MHS teams represented were: football, boys basketball, girls soccer and cheer. BU teams represented were: football, soccer and golf.
Carroll County Coordinated School Health provided water, snacks and stickers to walkers as they arrived.
McKenzie Elementary reported a great turnout of 297 students and 93 parents.
