The McKenzie High School Golf team hosts its annual Par 3 Extravaganza Saturday, July 25 at 4 p.m. at Carroll Lake Golf Club.
All 18 holes will be played as Par 3 by three-person teams. Entry is $35 per person or $105 per team. Registration begins at 3 p.m.
Head Coach Larry Joe Smith says the event is a “family-oriented fun day of golf.”
Prizes will be awarded for first, tenth and 20th place.
The event is the primary fundraiser for the MHS golf program, which must generate its own revenue.
The girls team has reached the state tournament for three consecutive years, while the boys team has done so in two of the last three years.
Coach Smith said the teams include many seniors and experienced players. The girls team includes senior Maggie Glass, junior Juleyanne Weatherford and sophomore Payton Ognibene. The boys teams includes seniors Johnathan Moore, Logan Green, Nathan Nanney and Matt Espey and sophomores Nolan Renfro and Ben Dillon.
