HOOVER, Ala. — Lieutenant Mike Lucas, 52, of Hoover, Ala. died Friday, March 13. He was born in Alabaster, Alabama to the late Wayne and Nancy Lucas.
Visitation is Tuesday, March 17, 5 to 8 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover. A memorial service is 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Mark and Johnny and survived by brother, Jason Lucas. He was married for 29 years to Shellye (Brown) Lucas, formerly of McKenzie. He was a graduate of Bethel (College) University and the Alabama Police Academy. He was a member of the police force for 27 years and a lieutenant in the Hoover Police Department at the time of his death. He was a member of Church of the Highlands Greystone campus.
He is survived by his wife Shellye, daughters Amanda (Chad) Battle, Brittney (Paul) Bundy, Sarah Lucas, and Thea (Travis) Willard, grandchildren Charlotte Bundy, Reagan and Evan Willard, and father-in-law, Clark Brown of McKenzie.
