HUNTINGDON (October 2) — Huntingdon High School held a Homecoming pep rally Friday during school at Paul Ward Stadium. During the event, seniors Carson Warman and Brooke Butler were named Mr. and Miss HHS.
Other candidates were senior boys Grant Bartholomew, Carter Cary, Christian Myles and Jake Stokes and senior girls Ellia Lewis, Addison Postlethwait, Leigh Sanders and Kaitlyn Wyatt.
The pep rally began with the senior class gathering on the field for the playing of their senior song, “I Lived” by One Republic.
Cheerleaders led a series of cheers and performed a routine, and the band performed fight songs.
A spirit competition was held between the four classes, and the seniors claimed the coveted “spirit stick.”
Another competition had one member of each class attempt to unfold and put on a t-shirt which had been folded tightly, soaked and frozen solid. Sophomore Elijah Flowers was the first to complete the goal.
Tug-o-war finals were held between the classes. The senior class claimed third place by defeating the sophomores. The juniors, who had beaten the seniors on Wednesday, topped the freshmen, who had bested the sophomores, to claim first place.
The pep rally concluded with another playing of the senior song, followed by the Alma Mater.
