Cassidy, Sumrok Named Mr., Miss McKenzie High School

Jackson Cassidy and Lilly Sumrok were selected as Mr. and Miss McKenzie High School by their fellow students.
 
The two are seniors at MHS and have excelled academically and socially at the school.
 
Lilly is a four-year member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, YoungLife, BETA Club, Teen Health and has served as a class officer for four years. She is the senior class president.
 
Lilly is a three-year member of the Student Council, a two-year FTA member, a one-year member of the LEO Club, where she was an officer, a seven-year member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Youth Group. She was selected as a Girls State representative in her junior year. She received several academic awards during her high school career.
 
Lilly was one of five members of the football Homecoming Court in 2022 and was selected for the Miss MHS and Best Personality senior superlatives.
 
She volunteered in her community providing over 80 hours of community service throughout her four years at MHS. That service was rendered at McKenzie Elementary School, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, United Neighbors and several other community-based project that serve the needs of the community.
 
She plans to attend a four-year university to pursue a degree in Secondary English education. She is the daughter of Andy and Natalie Sumrok.
 
Jackson is on track to earn a Distinguished Scholars diploma as a result of his successes in rigorous academic classes. He is a four-year member of the MHS Beta Club. He was a Boys State delegate and attended FCA Camp in 2022.
 
He was the starting quarterback for the McKenzie Rebels, who earned runner-up in the championship game in 2021 and state championship in 2022. He was named the MVP in that championship game.
 
He was named the lone Mr. Football for Class 1A during a ceremony on December 7 at Nissan Stadium.
 
He is a catcher for the MHS Rebel baseball team and helped his teammates to earn the runner-up position in the Class 1A championship in Murfreesboro in 2022. 
 
He attends First Baptist Church-McKenzie. His future plans are to attend college and pursue a career as a pharmacist. 
 
Jackson is the son of George and Angela Cassidy and the brother to Jake and Charlie Cassidy.
