Mustangs Cruise by Tigers, 13-4

ATWOOD (May 3) — The District 11A Baseball Tournament continued Friday at West Carroll High School. In the nightcap, the Huntingdon Mustangs faced the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers. The Mustangs pulled ahead early en route to a 13-4 victory.
With the win, the Mustangs advanced to face McKenzie Monday, while the Tigers fell to the lower bracket against West Carroll.
Huntingdon set the tone early with four runs in the bottom of the first. Central plated a run in the top of the third, but the Mustangs responded with a pair in the home half of the fourth. The Tigers rallied for a pair in the top of the fifth, but Huntingdon grew the lead with three in the bottom. Central added a run in the top of the sixth, and the Mustangs added four in the home half.

Mustang Hunter Ensley was 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, three RBIs and three runs scored. Brandon Lawton was 4-for-5 with two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Kelby Pearson was 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Bo McLemore was 3-for-5 with two RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base. Sam Parrish was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Konnor Pearson was 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Brett Huss was 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. Blake Bradley was 1-for-4.
Tiger Mac Hooten was 1-for-3 with a double an a stolen base. Brayden Frye was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Dalton Williams was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Gage Lowry was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base. Zane Mebane was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Austin Craig was 0-for-1 with two walks and a run scored.
Reed Jones earned the win for Huntingdon, allowing three earned runs on three hits while striking out five and walking five in five innings. Blake Bradley threw an inning of relief, allowing one earned run on one hit while striking out three and walking none. Javon Pritchard pitched the final frame, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out three and walking one.
Brayden Frye took the loss for Central, allowing six runs (three earned) on eight hits while striking out three and walking four in three and a third innings. Austin Craig threw an inning and two thirds of relief, allowing three earned runs on three hits while striking out one and walking none. Malik Mathis pitched the final frame, allowing four earned runs on four hits while striking out one and walking two.
