ATWOOD/HUNTINGDON (April 22-23) — The West Carroll War Eagles and Huntingdon Mustangs played a pair of District 11A baseball contests last week. West Carroll made both games competitive, but Huntingdon held on for a pair of four-run victories.
Monday, the War Eagles hosted and had a one-run lead in the middle innings, but the Mustangs gained momentum late for an 11-7 win.
Tuesday, Huntingdon hosted and jumped ahead early, then held off a late West Carroll rally for a 10-6 win.

West Carroll struck first with a run in the bottom of the first. Huntingdon took the lead with five runs in the top of the second, but the War Eagles tied it with four in the home half and regained the lead with a run in the third. The Mustangs took the lead for good with three in the fifth. They added three more in the top of the seventh, and West Carroll plated one in the bottom half.
Mustang Kelby Pearson was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, three RBIs and two runs scored. Blake Bradley was 2-for-4 with a triple, a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases. Hunter Ensley was 2-for-2 with a double, three walks, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Cole Edwards was 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base. Sam Parrish was 1-for-5 with two RBIs. Bo McLemore was 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base. Konnor Pearson was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Brandon Lawton was 1-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Brett Huss was 1-for-5 with a double and a run scored.
War Eagle Curt Foster was 1-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Tyson Keymon was 1-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Antonio Williams and Parker McAfee were each 1-for-4. Zach Heckert was 0-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Wyatt Baker was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
