Paris-Henry County Chamber Hosts 69th Annual Banquet

PARIS (June 13) — Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce held its 69th annual Awards Banquet to honor those of outstanding service to the community.
Reverend Kenneth Humphreys was honored as the Person of the Year for his service as a music teacher for Henry County School District, a minister, and member of the Henry County Commission, where he serves as the Budget Committee chairman. He also serves as a member of the Henry County Arts Council and the W.G. Rhea Library board. John Etheridge returns as president of the countywide Chamber. Etheridge is retired as the head of the Board of Public Utilities. He received the tradition red coat from outgoing president Scott Morrison.
Morrison said the Chamber had a great year. The 490-member Chamber had great participation from its members and board members. One of the outstanding events was the 670 participants in the annual Water Run Seventy-five percent of the participants were from out of the area. The Chamber also launched a Shop Local campaign, which included a video series to support it, said Morrison.
The Chamber Executive is Travis McLeese, who is assisted by Sandy Ellis and Tara Wilson, who serves the Paris-Henry County Industrial Board.
