Postal Rates to Increase

On August 29, the United States Postal Service will make postal rate changes to first-class mail, international mail and newspapers.

In first-class mail, single-piece letters weighing one ounce will be $0.58, three cents higher than the current price. Additional ounces remain $0.20 extra. Letters metered one ounce will be $0.53, two cents higher than the current price. Domestic post cards will be $0.40, four cents higher than the current price. Single-piece flats weighing one ounce rise sixteen cents to $1.16.

Outbound international letters weighing one ounce will rise ten cents, reaching $1.30.
Newspaper postal rates increase to an average eight percent higher than the current rate.
