Rebels Rout Patriots, 9-1

McKENZIE (April 2) — The McKenzie Middle School Rebels hosted the Henry County Patriots Tuesday, dominating both sides of the ball for a 9-1 victory.
McKenzie struck first with three runs in the bottom of the first. Henry County responded with a run in the top of the second, which the Rebels matched in the home half. McKenzie plated three in the third and added a pair in the sixth.
Rebel Ty Anderson was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases. Jackson Cassidy was 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Tate Surber was 0-for-1 with two walks, four runs scored and five stolen bases. Nolan Renfro was 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Landon Brown was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Braden Birmingham was 0-for-2 with two walks and an RBI. Lane Anderson was 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Patriot Ethan Ramsey was 1-for-1 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base. Braiden Newell was 1-for-3 with a double. Chase Cameron was 0-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base.
Jackson Cassidy earned the win for McKenzie, allowing one unearned run on one hit while striking out six and walking three in six innings. Lane Anderson pitched the final inning, allowing no runs on one hit with no walks.
Devin Wofford took the loss for Henry County, allowing three unearned runs on one hit while striking out one and walking three in two-thirds of an inning. Jeremy Thornton pitched four and a third innings in relief, allowing six runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks. Jeremiah Townsend threw the final frame, allowing no runs or hits while walking two.
