Robinson Named Bethel Strength, Conditioning Coordinator

Posted

McKENZIE — Bethel Head Football Coach Michael Jasper announced Wednesday Garrett Robinson has been named the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the program.

Robinson grew up in southern Maine where he was a competitive athlete in gymnastics for 12 years.

While in college, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training: Sports Medicine. Throughout college, Garrett instructed competitive gymnastics and strength and conditioning classes, leading young gymnasts to compete all over the United States.

After college, Garrett worked in physical therapy rehabilitation, and eventually relocated to West Tennessee to work as an Athletic Trainer for Bethel University, assisting in injury prevention and sports rehabilitation for student-athletes.

In total, Garrett has 10-plus years experience in the physical fitness industry with proven results. Garrett is also an active member with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and an instructor for CrossFit.

Garrett expressed his excitement about the opportunity. “I am very excited for the opportunity to assist in strength and conditioning student-athletes on the football team at Bethel University. Without a doubt, strength and conditioning is an essential component to maximizing each athlete’s potential. When practiced with the correct form, it can decrease the chances of injury drastically, and transform the regular to the exceptional.”

Coach Jasper commented, “This is a huge deal for our program and I am thrilled to have Garrett join our staff. I believe it is going to soar our program to new heights. Coach Robinson’s expertise in athletic training along with his vast knowledge of strength and conditioning programming will help us better serve our student athletes.”
