The McKenzie Rotary Club donated $1,000 to the Beating Hearts Help Center in the memory of the late Sally Shymkiw. Through the club’s Fannye Baxter Moore Fund, the check was presented to Beating Heats Director Kathy Ham.

According to Dr. Ed Perkins, trustee of the Moore fund, he said the center provides “much needed services to many worthy and needy local residents. As part of their programs, they provide expecting parents assistance as well as post adoption support for birth mothers. Two important aspects are the financial and emotional support for clients.”

The Beating Hearts mission statements states “Beating Hearts Center provides free pregnancy tests and options education, crisis intervention, maternal and infant care services, prenatal, parents, life skill and healthy relationship education in a caring, non-judgmental environment. With the vision of working in a community were each life, born and unborn, is cherished, protected, loved, and encourage no matter what stage of life.
