Rotary Members Learn About LBL

Posted
McKENZIE — John Rufli, executive director of Friends of Land Between the Lakes, was the featured speaker at the Rotary Club of McKenzie on Tuesday, December 6.

The non-profit support organization works to educate, improve, promote, conserve and provide stewardship for the Land Between the Lakes.

Rufli said the group helps with the operation of the gift shops, Homeplace 1850, clear trails, work in the planetarium, and helps provide school field trips so students can learn about nature and the environment. In January, the group offers cruises along the lake to view eagles.

Nearly two million visitors are attracted to Land Between the Lakes each year.

LBL is located between Kentucky Lake and Barkley Lake and lies in both Tennessee and Kentucky.
