Rotary Hears About Pepsi Mid-America

McKENZIE (May 16) — Members of the Rotary Club of McKenzie had Ricky Price as the featured speaker. Ricky is a vice-president of Pepsi MidAmerica in Marion, Illinois.

Price is a member of the local Rotary Club and a McKenzie resident, who graduated from MHS in 1974 and immediately went to work in the soft drink business.

Pepsi MidAmerica has grown into the largest family owned Pepsi bottlers in the United States. The plant, which was the newest in the world in 1969, continues to grow and upgrade as new products are taken on. The number of jobs has increased by over three times since 1975. PMA continues to improve as a company including adding full-line vending through most of the region. The company employs approximately 1,000 associates.

The company is owned by Harry Crisp, who believes in supporting the people of the communities of the people Pepsi MidAmerica serves. The Bethel University arena in McKenzie is named in honor of Harry and Rosemary Crisp because of his generous support of the university.

The distribution center in Paris is named in honor of Ricky Price.

At the end of his presentation, Price presented each attendee with a book outlining the history of the company.
