Ruby Bird Welch

McKENZIE, Tenn. - Services for Ruby Bird Welch, 94, are Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church- McKenzie with Nicki McMinn and Windol Walker officiating.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Stafford’s Store Community. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 9:30 am until service time.  Mrs. Welch, a retired factory worker from Callins Industries in Greenfield, TN, died Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at her daughter’s residence. 

She was born on August 24, 1926 in Parma, Missouri to Ausie Franklin and Nora Jane Pierce Bird. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 62 years who died in 2008. 

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Welch Duffina of Dresden, Kay Hayes of McKenzie, three sons, Cooper Welch of Dresden, Tony Welch and Donald Welch, both of Huntingdon, five sisters, Ruth Bird Romero, Thema Bird Seats, Gertie Bird Prince, Joe Alice Orr and Alene Orr, two brothers, Vernon Bird and Leonard Bird, 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Frazier, Tucker Hensley, Austin Bales, Braxton Tucker, Cody Frazier, and Joshua Frazier.
