TREZEVANT, Tenn. - Ruby “Laverne” Simmons, 85, of Trezevant died October 9, 2018, surrounded by loved ones.  Visitation and services are this Saturday, 13, at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan, Tenn.., with Brother Randy Beals officiating.  Visitation is 11:00 – 2:00, with service beginning at 2 p.m.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Trezevant. 

Laverne was born October 17, 1932.  She worked at Henry I. Siegel in Trezevant for 49 years.  She loved her job and met many friends that would forever be in her life. 

She enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing and boating, but mostly just sitting on her golf cart talking to friends.

Her sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to all that knew her. 

Laverne is preceded in death by her husband, Carl, son, Carl Michael, parents, Beatrice and Charlie Chandler, stepfather, Artie Brockman, brother, Paul David Chandler, sister, Bernice Mathis, granddaughter, Marsha Easley, and great-granddaughter, Liza Kay Black.

Laverne is survived by three children, Teresa Easley (David), Linda Davis, and Anthony Simmons (Dana).  She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Christy Scott (Tony), Amber Sanders (Chip), Wesley Davis (Shay), Summer Davis, Brianne Black (John), eight great-grandchildren, Courtney Scott, Brandon Scott, Brice Browning, Jace Browning, Madison Sanders, Aubrey Davis, Tenley Davis, Layna Church, and many nieces and nephews.

Laverne was a loving and caring person, and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
