TREZEVANT  - Samuel Earl Akins, 88, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Brummitt Funeral Home Trezevant, 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  and Friday 10:00 a.m. until service time. Funeral Service is Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment is at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Akins was born in Carroll Co. Tenn. on June 28, 1932 to Sammie Lee and Lula Bell Blaylock Akins. He is a member of Atwood United Methodist Church and worked for H.I.S. for forty-eight years.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Vaughn Akins of Trezevant, two sons Mitch Akins and Kirk (Shelly) Akins all of Milan, four grandchildren Brooke (Kyle) Pearson, Abby Akins, Andrew Akins and Chad (Oukie) Akins and two great-grandchildren Owen and Eli.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Elizabeth Akins, Katherine Akins and LaVerne Akins Belew and three brothers, Charlie Lewis Akins, Paul Wesley Akins and J.T. “Buddy” Akins.
