Theft — According to a report made by Deputy Heather Townes, on September 24, deputies responded to a call from a worker at Clay Hill Motor Sports in Atwood regarding a male being on the property and hiding behind a tractor. The defendant was Jonathan Sullivan, 32, of Atwood, who did not have permission to be on the property. Many items were stolen from the property at Clay Hill Motor Sports.

Assault — According to a report made by Deputy Furr, on September 23, deputies were dispatched to Trezevant in reference to a domestic that occurred. They advised the caller to head towards the Huntingdon Courthhouse when they passed the caller so they turned around near Power Station Rd and pulled over. The caller advised that her friend was assaulted by her boyfriend, Matthew Tolley, 31, of Trezevant. She advised that her friend stated Matthew grabbed her face, held a bat in her face, threatened to wreck her car, break her phone, and kill her dogs. The victim stated they were in the house with Matthew when trying to leave he followed them outside yelling and screaming; lunged at her with a verbal threat that he would hit them both if they didn’t leave. On 9-24-24, deputies received a call Matthew planned on taking his kid and leaving the state to go to Kentucky. At this time, he had not been picked up on his warrants yet. After calling the school they said Matthew was there and they detained him until he could be placed under arrest.

Joyriding — According to a report made by Deputy Grant Davis, on September 26, he responded to a house in Atwood in reference to a stolen vehicle. Joshua Cook, 38, of Atwood, said he took the vehicle without permission because his vehicle is broken, and the truck is his father’s name. The victim stated that Cook has taken his vehicle multiple times without asking for permission. Cook was then placed under arrest for joyriding.

Domestic Assault — According to a report made by Deputy Lucas Coleman, on September 20, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from Baptist ER in Huntingdon that a 51-year-old victim had been assaulted. She stated Richard Steven Fowler, 52, of Buena Vista, had come home and started breaking stuff in the house while she was lying in her stepson’s bed watching a movie. She stated he started beating her, pulling her by the hair all through the house and kicking her; and took broken glass and cut her face and ear which caused multiple lacerations to her face. He was taking to jail for Domestic Assault.

Public Intoxication — According to a report made by Deputy Heather Townes, on 9-23-24, deputies responded to a call on Clay Farm Road in Atwood when the caller advised that a male subject who was found to be, Daniel Lott, 31, of McKenzie, was standing in the road taunting the vehicle as it traveled by not getting out of the road and standing in the way. The caller said Lott had a stick in his hand and hit the truck with the stick. The defendant appeared to be intoxicated and was transported to jail.

Drug/Narcotic Violations — According to a report made by Deputy Chance Townes, on September 24, he initiated a traffic stop on Railroad St in Trezevant for a registration plate light being out on the vehicle. He asked for consent to search through the vehicle, but the driver, Krystal Dawn Smith, 57, of Atwood, refused so Deputy Townes deployed a K-9 unit for an open-air sniff on the vehicle. In the vehicle they found a joint that was recently smoked, digital scale, glass pipe, and two small baggies of methamphetamine. She had warrants out of Madison County, so she was transported there.

Domestic Assault — According to a report made by Deputy Jeremy Smith, on September 22, he responded to a domestic assault call in Hollow Rock. Upon arrival, he made contact with the victim who had redness around her throat and a bite mark on her thumb. The victim stated that Michael Hones, 46, of Hollow Rock, strangled her to the point she almost lost consciousness, bit her thumb and refused to let her leave the trailer by holding her. The victim was able to escape when someone brought Hones money at the front door, so she ran out the back door and through the cemetery towards the highway with only one shoe on and ran across the highway to Broad St. where witnesses saw Mr. Hones chasing after her and she was screaming for help. Mr. Hones went back to his residence and fled the area before deputies could arrive.
