The defendant also posted a picture on Instagram of burning the items. She did not know the total value of the items that were burned, just that some items were sentimental. She advised that she did want to press charges.
DUI — Juan Antonio Cruz, 50, of Trezvant, was arrested on January 9 for DUI. Sergeant Steven Scott responded to a possible domestic disturbance on Johnson Street. The caller stated that Cruz had been heavily drinking and drove off from their residence. While Sgt. Scott was speaking with Cruz’s girlfriend, Cruz called asking for his weed out of the jacket pocket. Cruz’s girlfriend handed the weed over to Sgt. Scott which was 15 grams. After leaving, the deputies found Cruz’s vehicle parked in the bank parking lot in Atwood. Cruz was laying back with the key in the ignition. Due to Cruz having the smell of alcohol on his breath, slurred speech, admitting being too drunk to drive, and sitting in the driver’s seat with the keys in the ignition, Cruz was charged with DUI.
