Domestic Assault — Rebecca Jean Evans, 45, of 2225 State Route 77, Atwood, was charged with domestic assault following an Oct. 1 incident at her residence.

Deputy Nick Roberts reported that he responded to a domestic call at Evans’ residence and spoke with her father, who said his daughter told him he needed to leave the house, and when he told her not to speak to her father like that, she attacked him, punching him in the face and causing a minor cut on his nose. The father said he defended himself when Evans attacked him. A witness at the scene confirmed the father’s story and added that Evans appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

Vandalism — Margaret Ecker told Deputy Nick Roberts on Oct. 1 that a swing set on her property on Atwood Street in Trezevant had been vandalized with the damage estimated at $450.

Court Order Violation — Christopher Allan Hinson, 45, of Trezevant was charged with violating an order granting bail on Oct. 5 at a Trezevant residence.

According to the report by Deputy Ryan Hamilton, Hinson’s wife called the Sheriff’s Department, stating that she saw footage of Hinson in her front yard while reviewing home security surveillance. When deputies arrived at the residence, they observed Hinson’s vehicle in the front yard. Deputies searched the home and found Hinson in a bedroom. Hinson was arrested and transported to jail after deputies confirmed that he was under court order not to be on the property.

Felony Evading — John Wesley Jones, 27, of Humboldt was charged with felony evading, driving on a suspended license, and violation of light law following a high speed pursuit on Oct. 6 in Carroll County.

Deputy Ryan Hamilton reported that he pulled over a vehicle driven by Jones due to a headlight being out at the intersection of Highway 70 and Highway 105, but the vehicle only stopped briefly before taking off. Deputies pursued for several miles with the fleeing vehicle reaching speeds up to 100 mph. The pursuit ended when the vehicle lost control and went into a ditch at the intersection of County Line Road and Cades Atwood Road. When Jones refused to put up his hands or open the door, a deputy busted out the driver’s side window with his baton. A computer check showed that Jones’ license was suspended. A passenger in the vehicle (who was not named in the report) was turned over to Gibson County authorities due to outstanding warrants in that county.

Domestic Assault — Nicholas Snati Mineo, 31, of Lexington was charged with domestic assault following an Oct. 6 incident at a Buena Vista residence.

Deputy Cody Walker reported that deputies went to an address on Buena Vista School Road after receiving a hang-up 911 call. Upon arrival, deputies found Mineo at the residence, and a female resident was in the shower. When she got out of the shower, she told deputies that Mineo and had struck her, and she gave a written statement stating that Mineo had thrown a bowl of cereal at her and hit her in the head. Mineo was transported to jail.
