Warrants — Warrants for aggravated assault, burglary, and theft of property under $1,000 were issued against Justin Lee Oliver, 33, of 95 Hurt Street, Trezevant, following a recent incident in Trezevant.
According to the report by Deputy Michael Sevarns, Richard Mitchell told deputies on May 14 he found Oliver inside his shed behind his home at 185 Hurt Street. Mitchell said Oliver had a wallet belonging to his wife, and he found an antique clock had been moved from inside his house and placed outside. Deputies determined Oliver, who was no longer on the property when deputies arrived, must have been inside Mitchell’s home before Mitchell found him in the shed.
Burglary — Deputy Christopher Adams took a report on May 19 that items had been stolen from a residence at 165 Hurt Street in Trezevant, including two claw hammers valued at $20 and a shop vacuum valued at $150.
Vehicle Theft — James Pope told deputies on May 18 someone took his 2008 Chevrolet 3500 box truck valued at $18,000 from where it had been parked at the site of the Tri-County Fair at 1315 Rimmer Road near Atwood sometime between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. that morning.
Pope described the truck as having a lime green cab and a white box with a Pope’s Concessions logo on it. Kimberly Karkozi of McKenzie also reported that someone took $1,000 from her room at the fairgrounds at around that same time. The truck was located in Arkansas.

Felony Evading, Drugs — Joseph Martindale Joyner, 50, of Big Sandy was charged with felony evading and simple possession of schedule VI following a May 9 police pursuit.
Deputy Steven Scott reported that he stopped a vehicle driven by Joyner on Connie Allen Road, but as he was walking up to the vehicle, Joyner drove away. A police pursuit ensued, and Joyner was taken into custody after running over a spike strip that flattened one of his vehicle’s tires. During a search of Joyner’s vehicle, deputies found over 18 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana.
DUI — Shelby Lynn Bennett, 20, of 15836 Highway 114, Buena Vista, was charged with DUI on May 8 by Deputy Steven Scott after Scott found Bennett sitting in a vehicle parked at Humbles Church on Buena Vista Road.
Scott detected the smell of alcohol while speaking with Bennett, and after getting her permission to search the vehicle, Scott found six alcohol containers, four of which were empty. Bennett performed poorly on field sobriety tests.
Vandalism — Kirsten McPeake, owner of Block City Pizza in Hollow Rock, told deputies someone broke one of the drive-thru windows and cracked the other by throwing an object through the window sometime after closing time on May 8. Damage was estimated at $400.
