Shooting Hunger Event is Friday at Shooting Park

Posted

More than 500 agriculture partners and industry leaders will gather on June 24, 2022 at Carroll County Shooting Sports Park for the West Tennessee Shooting Hunger event. Hosted by Tennessee Farm Bureau, Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st and Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, Shooting Hunger is a sporting clays event raising funds to decrease food insecurity across Tennessee.

Shooting Hunger has grown to three events across the state each year and has since raised enough funds to supply more than two million meals for hungry Tennesseans.

West Tennessee Shooting Hunger includes shooters of all levels spending the day shooting clays, supporting the cause, and enjoying networking with others in and around the agriculture industry. The format is five-person teams shooting at multiple stations throughout the day, with morning and afternoon flights of shooters. Prizes are awarded to the top three teams and the top individual shooter in both flights, and a $500 scholarship is awarded to the top youth shooter in each flight courtesy of Tennessee Farmers Cooperative.

After all three events for the year conclude, donated funds will be distributed evenly to all 95 counties to impact hunger locally by allocating funds to local school backpack programs and food banks. Learn more about Shooting Hunger and a full agenda of the day by visiting shootinghunger.com.
