GLEASON — The annual Gleason Gazelle’s Tater Town Special is this week with daily events.
Tuesday, August 27, Tater Town Cruise-In Car Show in memory of Spencer Collins, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in front of Gleason School. A power wheel fun race is at 6:30 p.m. Food trucks will be on site.
Wednesday, Young Bingo and Devotional begins at 7 p.m. at the Gazelle Grounds for Ages 4-17. Must be present at 7 p.m. to participate. The devotional speaker is Seth Bowers. Food trucks will be on site.
Thursday, Bingo and Cake Auction begins at 7 p.m. on the Gazelle Grounds for ages 18 and up. Cake Auction is during intermission. Food trucks will be on site.
Friday is the Community BBQ and Sweet Potato Cook-Off for all ages to participate. Sweet potato entries must be in Cook Booth by 5 p.m. for judges. BBQ Cook Off gate opens at 5 p.m. at the Gazelle Grounds. The price is $10 per plate. Live music to be provided by Magnolia.
Saturday begins with the JC Carey Memorial 5K Run. Registration is 6:30 p.m. in front of the school with race beginning at 7 a.m. Registration is $10 for students, $20 for adults. The event is sponsored by The Refinery and Hometown Clinic.
Jr. Parade begins at 9 a.m. Lineup is at Gleason Lumber.
The Grand Parade immediately follows the Jr. Parade at 10 a.m..
The downtown events include a Vendor Fair until 2 p.m. Food trucks will be available. Live music is provided by NAtheband at the Gazelle Grounds.
Sunday closes the events with a Community Worship Service, 11 a.m. at Gleason Methodist Church.
Gleason School Alumni Association convenes for the annual reunion at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church Family Life Center.
