TCAT-McKenzie Holds Student Appreciation Day

Posted

Tennessee College of Applied Technology- McKenzie had Student Appreciation Day on Friday, June 14. The day is about giving back to the students and thanking them for all they do throughout the year, including helping with fundraisers and volunteering for the community.

The day consisted of a softball tournament, fishing, football, and flying kites. The students were served hot dogs, chips, and drinks for lunch. The fourth annual softball tournament  had five teams and six games, two of which were played on Thursday, June 13. Over 70 students registered to play and then were drafted by the coaches; they have had team practices the past month.

The Argon Assassins coached by Welding Instructor David Earley took home the trophy. The other teams were Blister Sticks coached by Industrial Maintenance Instructor Johnny Rogers, Green Machine coached by Machine Tool Instructor Zac Crider, The Upsets coached by Administrative Assistant Patricia Barnett, and Black Stallions coached by Dresden campus Welding Instructor Jeremy Tucker.

TCAT McKenzie thanks all of the students and staff for making this a great day! Thank you for choosing TCAT McKenzie!
