The David Johnson Chorus Farewell Tour Includes Sharon First Baptist Church

Posted

The renowned David Johnson Chorus is bringing the Christmas portion of its Farewell Tour to Sharon First Baptist Church in Sharon. After twenty-two years of entertaining people throughout this region and the nation, the David Johnson Chorus comes to an end next spring.

But for now, it is primed and ready to bring one of its popular “Come Celebrate Christmas!” shows to Sharon First Baptist Church on Saturday, December 5. The free concerts begin at 7 p.m.

Families have made attending these concerts part of their Christmas tradition because of the heart warming and entertaining music. They enjoy the “Magic” that the David Johnson Chorus has become famous for.

Besides singing traditional Christmas songs like “White Christmas” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” this year’s show will also feature a cantata composed and arranged by Mary McDonald, one of the most popular composers and arrangers of Christian music today. The show is a celebration of the spirit of Christmas and of the wonderful gift of God’s Son to the world.

Director, David Johnson, said, “I’m really looking forward to giving audiences something to be joyful about in the face of so much turmoil that 2020 has brought us. This will be everyone’s last chance to hear us at Christmas time.”

General Manager, Gail Jercinovich, added, “Because rules related to COVID-19 keep changing week to week, people need to be sure and check with each venue closer to the concert dates. We do know that they are planning at this time to have live audiences. We can’t wait to see those smiling faces!”

The thirty-five-member chorus has performed in Washington, D.C., Cincinnati, Ohio, St. Louis, Missouri, Provo, Utah, Asheville, North Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia, and all across the state of Tennessee.

For more information, contact the church office at 731-456-2326 or general manager, Gail Jercinovich, at pgdc40@hotmail.com or 731-514-0167. The chorus can also be followed on Facebook.

The David Johnson Chorus Farewell Tour to be at Dresden First Baptist Church

The David Johnson Chorus performs its Christmas portion of its Farewell Tour to First Baptist Church in Dresden on Saturday, Dec. 12.

But for now, the chorus is primed and ready to bring one of its popular “Come Celebrate Christmas!” shows to Dresden First Baptist. The free concerts will begin at 7 p.m.

“I’m really looking forward to giving audiences something to be joyful about in the face of so much turmoil that 2020 has brought us. This will be everyone’s last chance to hear us at Christmas time,” said Director David Johnson.

General Manager Gail Jercinovich said the chorus is excited to perform for a live audience at Dresden FBC, which has plenty of space for social distancing and has had live services – with appropriate safety protocols – for the last several months. “We can’t wait to see those smiling faces!” she said.
