The TSSAA recently released school classifications by sport for the 2021-23 cycle.
Among the changes are a swap of classes for the McKenzie and Huntingdon high school football teams. Based on early enrollment numbers for this year, McKenzie moves from Class 2A to Class 1A while Huntingdon moves from 1A to 2A.
Huntingdon also moves up a class from A to AA in basketball, baseball and softball.
Schools had an opportunity to request to move up in classification.
Districts and regions will be set and released by TSSAA at a later date. Schools that disagree with their placement will have the opportunity to request an appeal before the Board of Control at the November scheduled meeting.
Enrollment numbers used for this cycle are as follows:

Huntingdon — 399
McKenzie — 335
West Carroll — 288
Hollow Rock-Bruceton — 195
Gleason — 127
Clarksburg — 104
