Two Bethel Golfers Play in Memory of Dr. T

Posted

McKENZIE — Dr. Deb Thompson, better known as Dr. T to friends, co-workers and students from Bethel University, died in March of this year.
An avid golfer, Dr. T was a very popular character at the Milan Golf and Country Club as well as Bethel University and her hometown of McKenzie, where she taught Physical Education and coached the tennis teams since 1982.
On Saturday, June 22, the Milan Ladies Auxiliary will host a memorial ladies golf tournament in memory of Dr. T.
In honor and memory of Dr. T, two Bethel golfers Morgan Bromley, who just graduated and rising senior, Juliana Campbell will be participating in the tournament representing the Bethel University golf team.

Bethel Coach Larry Geraldi said, “It is an honor and privilege to have two of our team members play in the first Doctor Deb T Memorial golf tournament at Milan CC. Dr. T was a beloved faculty member and former tennis coach at Bethel. But, more than that she was ALWAYS there and supported all of Bethel athletics and university events. She is not with us today but her legacy will live on in our hearts and minds forever. I am proud of Morgan and Juliana for the wonderful young ladies that they are and giving time during their summer break to represent our university and golf teams.”
A former Bethel golf member and friend of Dr. T made the donation to sponsor Bromley and Campbell in memory of beloved Dr. T. and also honor her legacy at the school.
The format will be a 2-lady scramble starting at 9 a.m.  The cost is $110.00 per team which includes a practice round, golf cart, a light breakfast and lunch.
Awards will be presented for each flight, closest to the pin, longest drive, and most fun team.
To register, send payment and names of each golfer to Cindy Alexander, 2128 Park Avenue, Milan, Tennessee, 38358. For more information, call 731-571-6595.
