Two Dead in Martin Shooting

MARTIN — On August 28, 2022 at approximately 3:01 a.m. officers responded to 504 N. College Street in reference to a possible burglary in progress.
 
As officers responded they received information that shots had been fired at the location.
 
Upon their arrival officers located two victims lying in front of 512 N. College St. Both individuals were deceased. 
 
Martin Police Department Investigators have identified the two victims from the shooting on N. College St. Sunday morning.
 
Victims identified are Camarri Harper, 18, of Union City and Marcetta Ross, 31, of Martin. 
 
Investigators believe the incident began at 504 N. College St. , Ms. Ross’s residence, with Mr. Harper attempting to gain entry into the house. At that time he fired shots into the residence and Ms. Ross exited the front of the house, running north. 
 
Mr. Harper chased Ms. Ross northbound and the chase ended in front of another residence on N. College St., where both victims were found deceased by Martin Police. 
 
Police are investigating this as a domestic disturbance incident and possible murder/suicide.
