ATWOOD — West Carroll picked up a pair of district wins last Tuesday sweeping Big Sandy in a doubleheader by identical scores of 16-1.
In the first game, the War Eagles hammered out 11 hits scoring 16 runs in just three innings of play. Devin Nash led the War Eagles with two hits while nine others recorded solo hits.
One of Nash’s hits was a triple while Curt Foster and Zack Heckert both hit doubles in the contest. Three War Eagles recorded two RBIs each including Nash, Wyatt Baker, and Curt Foster.
Foster got the win pitching two innings giving up two hits and no runs while striking out five and walking one batter. Zack Hardin came in relief pitching the third inning giving up one run on one hit while striking out one and walking one.
