War Eagles Sweep Big Sandy

ATWOOD — West Carroll picked up a pair of district wins last Tuesday sweeping Big Sandy in a doubleheader by identical scores of 16-1.
In the first game, the War Eagles hammered out 11 hits scoring 16 runs in just three innings of play. Devin Nash led the War Eagles with two hits while nine others recorded solo hits.
One of Nash’s hits was a triple while Curt Foster and Zack Heckert both hit doubles in the contest. Three War Eagles recorded two RBIs each including Nash, Wyatt Baker, and Curt Foster.
Foster got the win pitching two innings giving up two hits and no runs while striking out five and walking one batter. Zack Hardin came in relief pitching the third inning giving up one run on one hit while striking out one and walking one.

The second game was nearly a carbon copy of the first game with the War Eagles scoring 16 runs on 7 hits. Jaxson Hames hit a homer driving in two RBIs and scoring a run.
Zack Heckert had a pair of hits including a double driving in two RBIs and scoring three times.
Devin Nash and Wyatt Baker both scored a pair of runs in the contest while several others scored solo runs.
Hames took the win on the mound pitching two innings giving up a run on one hit and struck out two batters.
Zack Heckert came in relief giving up a hit and struck out two.
