West Carroll Dismisses School Due to COVID-19

West Carroll Special School District closed Monday and Tuesday, September 14 and 15 because of confirmed COVID-19 cases involving a staff member. Both Hollow Rock-Bruceton and McKenzie have had periodic closures to contain the virus.

The number of cases of the novel virus continues to increase in the geographic region. As of Sunday, September 13, Carroll County has recorded 739 cases in 2020, 39 remain hospitalized, 615 have recovered, and 15 deaths are recorded.

Henry County recorded 546 cases, 33 are hospitalized, 480 have recovered and 8 have died from the virus.

Weakley County recorded 1010 cases, 874 have recovered, 25 are hospitalized and 15 have died.

The U.S. has recorded 192,252 deaths and worldwide are 922,252 deaths.
