West Carroll, Hollow Rock-Bruceton Graduations Set for Mid-June

Posted

While three of the five Carroll County high schools held graduation ceremonies in May, the other two chose to delay until June. West Carroll High School and Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School set dates and make-up dates, for outdoor commencement exercises.
West Carroll’s ceremony is Thursday, June 18 at 8 p.m. at the football stadium. Make-up dates in case of inclement weather are Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20. The school also set dates in July in case a spike in COVID-19 cases occurs and new restrictions are enacted. Those dates are July 16-18.
Social distancing guidelines for the event will be set and relayed to the public closer to the date based on conditions at that time. Examples of this could be limiting the number of guests, provide specifics on entering and exiting the stadium, use of restrooms, etc.

The event will be streamed live on Facebook.
Commencement at Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School is set for Tuesday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the football stadium. Thursday, Friday and Saturday have been designated as make-up days in case of inclement weather.
The 39 Central graduates and up to two parents each will be seated on the field. Other guests may sit in the bleachers or on the lawn. Social distancing is encouraged, and law enforcement will be present to assist.
The event will be streamed live on Facebook and posted later on YouTube. It will also be transmitted short-range on FM radio for those that choose to remain in their vehicles.
